Laura De Santis took her first steps towards her artistic affirmation in the nineties. From the beginning she was aware that hers was not a simple passion but a vocation. She has a vast knowledge of fashion and trends and carefully observes the materials suitable for the development of her ideas. Her artisan skills, combined with the innovative style that distinguishes her, make her bijoux original and with a high artistic value.

The jewel is the result of a significant technical preparation both in the working of metals and in the interpretation of design. The use of stones, crystals and plexiglass gives strength and versatility to his creations making them attractive to a wide variety of women.

Initially he avails himself of an all-female collaboration, exhibiting his precious items at a fair in New York. His first shop is inside a well-known beach resort along the Roman coast, which gathers consensus and confirms his artistic conceptions.

She discovered the charm of crochet in the warm family atmosphere when, handing a silver thread to her grandmother who was crocheting, she witnessed the realization of a revealing vision.

The pivotal year will be 2002, which sees her traveling to New York again. In a prestigious megastore, she unexpectedly lands in her world: metal elements, stones and materials and a table on which to create her own jewelry.

This is where he draws inspiration for the birth of Bijoux Espresso, conceived as an itinerant and direct reference. The strength lies precisely in the immediate creation of the artifacts, shaped following the desires of the customers.

In Rome, among the streets of the historic center, we find her as the protagonist first in Via Frattina, where for several years she ran a successful business, then in the suggestive and authoritative Via Margutta: immersed in the magical atmosphere of the “street of artists”, her atelier and laboratory “L'Angolo delle Muse” is the place where Laura dedicates herself to the creation of bijoux and the production of metal bags and belts.

During this period he took part in an important Vogue competition, finishing in the top positions and taking advantage of the opportunity to present his collection.

Also in these years, famous faces of television such as Paola Perego, Luisa Corna and Mara Venier, wear her products; the designer Vitti Ferria Contin is fascinated by her creativity, and begins to commission exclusive works from her.

This relationship will lead to a collaboration lasting almost five years, during which Laura dedicates herself solely to the VFC brand, also taking care of marketing and communications.

Her creativity and artistic awareness lead her to propose herself as the sole interpreter of herself. In 2014, with the blog Bijoux Espresso, she showcases her world and each jewel is a shape of her destiny; a work that transmits authenticity and artisanal skills but that more than anything else communicates what is not tangible: her soul.
